RE: Post your signature picture here

Why doesn't the above pic show up in my sig? I don't see that a picture has been uploaded to your signature. (Signature picture must be uploaded to the forum servers) Signatures are created and edited on your preferences page: Click on the My Forums link found in the top-right protions of most forum pages. Click on the My Preferences link; it is just to the left of the My Profile link. http://i35.tinypic.com/14ave9x.jpg About that picture you posted. It is too large for a siganure. Restriction on signature pictures Maximum width = 500 pixels Maximum height = 100 pixels Maximum file size = 30 KB The file size and width of your picture are well within the requirements. However, the pictures height is 151 pixels, 51 above the maximum. If you need help resizing the picture, I can do it for you. Send me a PM and I'll give you an address to which you can send the picture. Tom

RE: last test

I assume you are testing changes to your signature (it help us help you if what is being tested is mentioned.) If you are testing your signature, please do not start a new thread each time you want to test the same feature; add a reply to your original post. That keeps all of your attempts together and makes it easier to figure out what is going on. If you are testing a signature, there is no need to make a new post. Any change to a signature will show up in every signature that is displayes, including all previous signatures. That is because signatures are not stored with a post, but rather, signature are added to posts when the page is created. Tom

RE: test

Maps?? Did you try to place maps in your signature? Signatures are created and edited on your prferences page: http://i35.tinypic.com/14ave9x.jpg You also said "maps", plural. Signatures can have only one picture. Where you see a signature that appears to have two or more pictures, all of the pictures were combined into one, before uploading. I can combine the for you. Please do not start a new thread each time you want to test the same feature; add a reply to your original post. RE: Dish Network. Any tips for new customer?

Simple - once you are subscribed to them (local channels) and keep the payments up, THEY don't know where I am on any given day. As long as I can find the right bird they are there! Not true, if they are spot-beamed and you are out of the spot. Tom

RE: Pulsar (moderator} help

I made some changes in your posts. I inserted some linefeeds and removed all of the size parameters. Here are some tips. Generally, put a linefeed (press the Enter key) before inserting a picture. Pictures should start on a new line. Generally, leave the size parameters blank if your picture is not larger that maximums - max width = 640, max height = 480. Reducing pictures maintains the quality; increasing their sizes leads to distrotions. If your picture is two big, only use one of the size parameters - usually the width. The display engine will only use the first one it sees and will adjust the other dimension to be proportional to the first. Tom

RE: Posting pictures ?

jerr529, If you would do your practicing over in Forum Technical Support, I can edit your posts and help you out. Some pointers: Use a linefeed (press the Enter key) before inserting a new picture and between each picture. The problem with your webshot posts is that ou used a url to a page that contains a picture not to the picture itself. Here is one of the webshot pictures http://inlinethumb10.webshots.com/22857/2754331300054244844S600x600Q85.jpg Tom

RE: Posting pictures ?

The recommended maximum dimensions for pictures are: Width = 640 pixels Height = 480 pixels Filesize = 100 KB When you have to adjust the size, only use one of the dimensions - give priority to the width - the display engine will only use the first parameter it sees and will adjust the other to keep the picture in proportion. The link below will take you to a tutorial for using TinyPic.Com, a host site that does not require one to register. Posting Pictures Using TinyPic.Com For The Host Site There are many tutorials at the top of the first page on the Forum Technical Support forum. That is also the place to go to practice. If you are having trouble, someone will jump-in to help. BTW, clicking on the URL in Photobucket (or TinyPic) copies the URL. Ctrl-C is not needed. Tom

kapnkirk, Here is a tutorial on using TinyPic.Com to post pictures. Posting Pictures Using TinyPic.Com For The Host Site On edit: You don't have to use the link, the tutorial is one post above your first post. If you don't understand part of it, ask a question. That would help us refine it for others. Tom
